Senior Adults

Plenti-nine is a group whose purpose is to promote Christian growth and fellowship through a variety of activities. Participants are individuals from Harrisonburg Baptist Church; most are retired, but there are no age restrictions. The only requirements for participation are some free time, an inquiring mind and a willingness to share in costs. Quarterly dinner meetings provide an opportunity for planning a variety of events. The group has traveled to locations such as Myrtle Beach, SC; Lancaster, PA; Winchester, VA; Richmond, VA; the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum at Dulles; and Peaks of Otter. Interested members read and discuss several books each year, and there are occasional hikes. Everyone is welcome to participate!

The group also takes seaonal day trips throughout the year (Back Roads of Rockingham and D.C. Cherry Blossoms in the spring, Skyline Drive and Blue Ridge Parkway in the fall, etc.)  A pleasant dining out experience is also a part of each day trip.

The X-Y-Z Club holds an annual picnic (usually in leiu of the June meeting) at one of Virginia's beautiful state parks or at a local or regional picnic area.  This is always a great time of fun and fellowship with great food (grilled burgers, dogs, chicken, pork--yummy!)

An annual "Generation To Generation Day" is hosted by the X-Y-Z Club at HBC.  The event is normally held the third Sunday of May and is open to all seniors and all other age groups.  A special guest is invited to speak at both worship services and a delicious meal (free of charge) and time of light-hearted fun follow the worship service in the church fellowship hall.

All X-Y-Z related activities are identified on the monthly church calendar which can be found on the church website under "Schedule."
