In his book, The Purpose Driven Life, Dr. Rick Warren reminds us that God designed us to be a part of a church family. HBC would like to be your spiritual family, and it's the reason we want to share with you what we believe and the direction we are going.
The Newcomers Orientation class is a basic introduction to our church family and is designed for both newcomers and new members. The class consists of four sessions (see the schedule below) and will be led by the HBC Ministry Team. This is a great opportunity to learn about Harrisonburg Baptist Church, get to know other newcomers, and enjoy great fellowship.
We will explain what we believe, how we operate, and share some background about our church. We'll answer your questions, provide information about our church's future plans, and explain how you may become a member. At the end of the orientation, if you are not already a member, there will be an opportunity for you to decide whether to complete the process and become a member, or wait and decide at another time.
All sessions will be held during the Sunday school hour (10:00 - 11:00 a.m.) in the church fellowship hall. The schedule is as follows:
October 19, 2008
Session I -- Our Statements
October 26, 2008
Session II -- Our Salvation
November 2, 2008
Session III -- Our Strategy
November 9, 2008
Session IV -- Our Structure
Please Note! This is also an opportunity for participants from a previous Newcomers Class to make up a missed session.
